Quality Sanding is Our Hallmark. We are passionate about doing a good job for our customers.
Are your wood floors worn out and scratched from foot-traffic, or discolored from sun exposure or spills?
It’s totally fixable, and a complete replacement isn’t the only answer. Before going the replacement route, think about sanding your floor first. Now, it stands to reason that people don’t know how to sand their floors properly, and you’d be correct. It is not the type of easy DIY job like painting your living room or spackling a ceiling.
Champion Floor Company in St. Louis is here to help. Our Bona Certified Craftsmen come to your home to assess the condition of your floors, and discuss the options with you before ever getting started. We stand by our work with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

If your hardwood floors are starting to fade in color or have stains from general wear and tear (Dogs and Children, god love ‘em), you can sand them to make them look like they did when you first had them installed.

Floor sanding removes the top layer of finish from a wooden floor to prepare it for refinishing. Sanding also smooths out minor imperfections and irregularities, leaving you with a leveled surface.
While it can be labor-intensive, it's also a great way to restore an old floor or give a new one a custom look. The amount that needs to be removed for sanding varies according (and scratches) to the thickness and type of finish on your floor.
The first thing we do is assess your floor to determine the right approach for sanding. We will then remove all the furniture and other items from the room and cover any areas requested. We don't want to get dusty.
Sandpaper is attached to a floor sander, which is then used in a back-and-forth motion across the floor. The sandpaper removes the top finish and any stains or scratches that may be present.
Once the sanding is complete, the floor is vacuumed and then cleaned with a damp mop to remove any dust particles.
The next step is to apply a stain (if desired) and then several coats of finish, which protect the floor and give it its shine.
Don't know where to start?
There are many advantages to having professionals do the sanding for you. Here are just a few of them:
For one, it saves you time and money in the long run. While you may be tempted to do it yourself or hire someone who is not experienced, this will likely end up costing you more in the long run if they damage your flooring.
Save Time and Money
Knowledge of the Equipment
This isn’t the sort of thing you can crank out in a few hours like painting or spackling. To do this right, you have to know how to use the equipment. Think of it this way. You’ve never driven a stick-shift before, and now you are going on 270 in rush-hour. Could be a bit overwhelming. Professionals have the proper equipment to do the job right and know how to avoid mistakes that could damage your floor.

The sanding process can restore the wood floor's original state by removing blemishes, scratches, and stains. A professional floor sanding St. Louis service can also increase the sturdiness of the floor by readjusting any distortions caused by constant movement.

Keep it clean
When you sand your floors, there is a risk of creating an unsafe environment from all the particulate in the air and on the floor. If the sawdust produced is not contained, it can create a slip and fall hazard or worse, you’ll breathe it in.
Floor Sanding in St. Louis is a delicate job; if not done correctly, it may cause chatter marks (a rippling pattern of half-circle marks that appear on hardwood floors as a result of improper sanding), gouges, or other irregularities that can damage your floor beyond repair.
Avoid Unnecessary Damage
