Clayton’s condo buildings have a history of thoughtful design, and over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work inside many of them. Each building has its own personality, its own quirks, and its own set of considerations when it comes to flooring. Sound control matters. Elevators matter. Building requirements matter. At Champion Floor, we’ve completed different flooring projects in many of Clayton’s well-known condo buildings, including Plaza at Clayton and The Crescent Condos just across the street. Because we work within these buildings often, we understand the logistics, the construction details, and what it takes to install hardwood flooring properly in a multi-unit setting.
That experience came into play on this project, where we were thrilled to work again with a long-time client. We previously installed flooring in their home, and when they decided to downsize into a Clayton condo, they called us back. Returning for a second project is always meaningful. It says a lot about trust, comfort, and shared expectations.
A Thoughtful Flooring Choice for Condo Living
For this condo renovation, the goal was to create a clean, modern look that felt warm and inviting without feeling overdone. The client selected Mirage White Oak Hula Hoop Brushed DuraMatt, a beautiful engineered hardwood flooring option that works especially well in condos.
The brushed white oak adds subtle texture and warmth, while the DuraMatt finish keeps the look soft and modern. It’s the kind of hardwood flooring that complements natural light and allows furniture, art, and personal style to shine.
Hardwood Flooring Installed Throughout the Entire Condo
We completed hardwood flooring installation throughout the entire condo to create a seamless flow from room to room. The new flooring was installed in the entryway, living room, kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, bringing continuity and balance to the space.
As part of the installation process, we removed the existing wood and marble flooring to properly prepare the subfloor. Proper prep work is a critical step in any hardwood flooring installation, especially in condos where performance and longevity matter.
The Installation Process Behind the Scenes
Because this was a multi-unit building, sound and moisture control were key considerations. We installed a vapor and sound barrier to help reduce noise transfer and protect the flooring over time.
The hardwood was installed using Bona QUANTUM R851, a high-performance adhesive designed specifically for hardwood flooring installations. It provides excellent strength and flexibility, allowing the floor to move naturally while maintaining a secure bond.
Our installation crews handled the project with care and attention to detail, from clean transitions to consistent spacing, resulting in a finished floor that feels simple, modern, and beautifully executed.
